At this point in the year, and especially with the recent stretch of warmer weather, Bethany pond is best fished for warmwater species like Bass, Crappie, Perch, and Bluegills. Vegetation has become an issue, but there are well-established fishing "lanes" that provide clear access if you're willing to walk a little further around the lake from the public parking area. Your local Hillsboro Sportsman's Warehouse has just restocked their Panfish & Bass walls and would love to set you up with the same presentations and techniques that they have already field-tested!!! Bass fisherman throwing hollow-bodied frogs like those from Booyah and Strike King (they havent been picky on color lol) have found some exceptionally large Bethany Pond Largemouth Bass during the first hour of fishable light and the Bass fishing should continue to remain solid through October.
